This privacy policy applies to the Nook app ("Application") and the Nook website, created by Mario Luis Gutierrez Abed ("Service Provider"). The service is provided "AS IS".
Nook is designed to work without a Nook account. Your game library, collections, ratings, notes, playthroughs, and related personal tracking data are stored locally on your device. Nook does not use third-party advertising and does not collect an advertising identifier.
Some features use the third-party services described below. Those services may process technical information needed to deliver a request, such as an IP address, device or operating system information, and service-specific identifiers.
Community participation is optional. If you sign in, Supabase hosts your Nook profile, handle, optional name, bio, location label, links and profile images, together with your posts, comments, uploaded photos, GIF attachments, likes, follows, blocks and reports. We also store the settings, policy acceptance and moderation records needed to operate your account. Your Nook Premium status may be reflected in your profile and Community limits.
Onboarding explains sharing before you create your profile. You can choose audiences separately for ratings, reviews, activity and relationship lists. Shared library showcases can include recent games, reviews, favorites, public manual collections, play statistics and an activity heatmap. Shared playthrough sessions can include playtime, achievements, notes and photos. Each component is enabled by default and can be hidden in Profile Sharing; sessions follow your Recently Played audience. Existing sessions appear on profiles, while newly logged sessions can also appear in the feed. Purchase details and store credentials are never published. Smart collections are not published. Importing or syncing your library does not create a feed event for every imported game.
Information shared with Everyone can appear in the app, public web profiles, search engines, link previews and share cards. Others can copy public collections or save shared content. Profile images and ordinary post/comment photos use public delivery URLs. Session photos use private storage and authorized links that expire after one minute; a link already issued can remain valid for that minute after a privacy change. Changing an audience or deleting content cannot recall copies already saved by others. Hiding Community in Settings does not delete your account or change its existing sharing choices. Turn Community Features back on in Settings to access your account and Profile Sharing controls.
Apple or Google supplies an account identifier and may supply an email address for authentication; Apple may supply a private relay address. A provider-supplied name may prefill your editable display name. Your sign-in email is not displayed on your public profile or used for unrelated marketing. Google sign-in requests only basic identity, email and profile access, without access to contacts or other Google services. See the Google Privacy Policy.
Nook shares sign-in infrastructure with other apps operated by the Service Provider, including Cinephile. Verified identities may resolve to the same underlying sign-in account. Your Nook profile, handle, relationships, moderation, Premium status and sharing settings remain separate; joining Nook does not copy another app's profile or publish its data.
The optional Klipy picker sends GIF searches, pagination, locale, a temporary random session identifier and view/share events through our server. We store attachment metadata and delivery URLs. GIFs load from Klipy's delivery network, which receives your IP address. Nook does not send Klipy your Community identity or advertising identifier, and does not keep a GIF search-history list. Optional text translation uses Apple's translation capabilities on your device. Moderators can review reported content and account information needed to investigate abuse. Report details may be sent to our moderation inbox through our email delivery provider, Resend. Technical logs, upload budgets and rate limits help maintain service reliability and prevent abuse.
While signed in, you can delete your Nook Community account under Home → Settings → Community → Delete Community Account. If Community Features is off, turn it back on to show the account controls. This removes your Nook profile information and shared content and schedules associated uploads for deletion. Cleanup is retried when a storage or network operation fails. Reserved handles and limited anonymized moderation records may remain to prevent impersonation and enforce restrictions.
Deleting Nook Community preserves an account you still use in another community. Shared sign-in records are removed only when no other application needs them and cleanup has completed; they may be retained while those dependencies are verified. Nook Community deletion does not delete your local or private iCloud game library, delete your Apple or Google account, or cancel an App Store subscription.
If you enable iCloud features, your Nook data is stored in your private iCloud account so it can sync across your supported Apple devices. Apple processes that data under its own privacy policy and iCloud terms. You can disable Nook sync in the app's settings and manage iCloud from your Apple device settings.

Nook uses IGDB to provide game metadata, artwork, platforms, franchises, release information, search results, and discovery feeds. Requests are sent through a server function hosted by Supabase before being forwarded to IGDB. A search request can include the title or filters you enter, but does not include your personal Nook library, ratings, notes, or playthrough history.

Nook uses RevenueCat to present offerings, verify Premium access, process restores, and manage subscription status. RevenueCat may process an app user identifier, purchase history, receipt or purchase-token information, and device or operating system information required to provide those services. Apple processes App Store payments.

If you choose photos for a playthrough entry, profile, post or comment, Nook receives only the images you select through Apple's photo picker. Playthrough photos become part of your local Nook data and, if iCloud sync is enabled, may sync through your private iCloud account. Photos attached to Community profiles, posts or comments, and session photos included by your sharing settings, are uploaded to Community storage as described above. Nook may also request notification permission to deliver game release reminders that you configure. These permissions can be changed at any time in system settings.
The Nook website uses Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate website usage and improve the site. If you submit feedback through a Nook feedback flow, the content you provide and the technical identifiers needed to support voting, editing, moderation, and abuse prevention may be stored using Supabase infrastructure. If you enable Community attribution when submitting feedback, your Nook handle, profile image and badge can appear beside your submission. Historical Cinephile attribution remains associated with Cinephile.

If you contact us by email, we retain your address and correspondence only as needed to respond, maintain support records, protect the service, or comply with legal obligations. We do not use support email for unrelated marketing.
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it or remove the Application. Data synced through iCloud remains subject to your iCloud settings and Apple's retention practices. Purchase records are retained as required by Apple, RevenueCat, and applicable accounting or legal obligations. Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above.
You can request access, correction, or deletion of personal data controlled by the Service Provider by contacting support@gamersnook.app. Requests involving Apple, RevenueCat, Supabase, or other independent services may also need to be directed to that provider.
Nook is not directed to children under the minimum age at which they may consent to data processing in their region. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children who are below that minimum age. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Community, support or feedback, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information under our control. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
This policy may change as Nook develops or legal and service requirements change. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date.
