Terms of Use

This page outlines the Terms of Use for Nook

Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: August 4, 2026

Last Updated: August 4, 2026

These terms apply to the Nook app and website (together, the "Service"), created by Mario Luis Gutierrez Abed ("Service Provider"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these terms.

Use of the Service

Nook is a personal video game library and playthrough tracker. You may use it only in compliance with applicable law and these terms. You may not attempt to disrupt the Service, gain unauthorized access, misuse its network requests, or use it to violate another person's rights.

Intellectual Property

Nook's software, branding, site design, and original content are owned by the Service Provider or used under license. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it. Game names, artwork, logos, and other catalogue material remain the property of their respective owners.

Your Data and Content

You are responsible for the library information, notes, ratings, photos, playthrough entries, collection text, and other content you add to Nook. You represent that you have the right to store that content. Do not use Nook to store unlawful, infringing, or harmful material.

Local data remains under your control. If you enable iCloud, you authorize Apple to store and synchronize your Nook data under your iCloud account and Apple's terms. You are responsible for maintaining your device, Apple Account, and backups.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Nook may offer optional subscriptions, tips, or other in-app purchases. Prices and billing periods are shown before purchase and are processed by Apple. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through your Apple Account at least as required by Apple's rules. Refunds and billing disputes are handled under Apple's applicable policies.

The Service Provider may change Premium features or pricing for future billing periods, subject to notice and applicable platform rules. RevenueCat is used to manage offerings, entitlement status, and purchase restoration.

Third-Party Services

Nook relies on third-party services, including Apple and iCloud for platform and sync services, RevenueCat for purchase and subscription management, Supabase for server infrastructure, and IGDB/Twitch for game catalogue data. Your use of those features may also be governed by the third party's own terms and policies. Their services may change, become unavailable, or return incomplete or inaccurate data.

Relevant terms include Apple's Media Services Terms, the iCloud Terms, RevenueCat's Terms, Supabase's Terms, and the IGDB API Terms.

Release Information and Notifications

Release dates, platforms, ratings, play-time estimates, and other game information may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. Notifications are provided for convenience and are not guaranteed to arrive. You should verify important release or purchasing information with the publisher or platform store.

Availability, Updates, and Changes

Nook is under active development. Features may be added, changed, limited, or removed, and the Service may experience interruptions. The Service Provider may release updates or require a supported operating system to maintain security, compatibility, or functionality.

Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind. The Service Provider does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free software, permanent data availability, or the accuracy of third-party catalogue information.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service Provider will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or use arising from the Service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Termination

You may stop using Nook at any time. The Service Provider may suspend or terminate access to online portions of the Service if you materially violate these terms, misuse infrastructure, or create a security or legal risk. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated as Nook develops or legal and platform requirements change. The current version will be posted here with an updated revision date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms where permitted by law.
